Travel season has kicked into high gear again for me.  I typically only take a couple of leisure trips a year, however, I travel probably about 50% or more a month for business.  So I thought I would share some of my travel tips along with some observations I have made over many years of traveling.  And although much of the travel has been for business, I’m sure that many of these things you will find applicable to travel in general.

St. Louis Science Center

St. Louis Science Center - Our visit to check it out

Over the Christmas break, we had the opportunity to check out the St. Louis Science Center.  We have been here several times, however, there are always new things to do and see.  And with having some very cold weather and some really bored kids, it was a great place to explore.

Christmas of Old - Experience Christmas in the 1800s

This weekend our family had the opportunity to experience Christmas of old.  We traveled back in time as we visited the Daniel Boone Home for their Christmas Candlelight tour.  We traveled back in time to 1800s to experience what Christmas was like in those days.

Short Visit to Galveston

Galveston, TX - Short visit

This weekend our family had the opportunity to make a short visit to Galveston, Texas.  We have family in the Houston area and love the opportunity to hit the beach.  Being from the midwest and it heading into colder weather, it makes you really appreciate the chance to catch some beach fun before winter is here, so that is exactly what we did.

Are We There Yet?

Are We There Yet? - Kid activities for a road trip

Are we there yet?  Probably the most four dreaded words parents want to hear on a trip.  I remember our car trips as a kid.  There is something fun about traveling in the back of a station wagon.  You just can’t get the same experience in an SUV.  Regardless somethings never change.  Kids still continue to ask, “Are we there yet?”.  With holidays nearing, the travel season will soon be upon us.

Camping Close To Home

The Our family loves to camp!  And when I say camping, I mean camping, not glamping.  Even growing up my family owned a pop-up camper.  We took regular summer vacations. Those camping trips are some of my fondest childhood memories.  So several years ago, we had the opportunity to purchase a used pop-up camper.  For those not familiar, it is basically one step up from a tent.  No electric, unless you have a place to plug-in and no shower or toilet.  Not to mention the A/C really doesn’t work well.  Really, it is fun!
