Travel season has kicked into high gear again for me.  I typically only take a couple of leisure trips a year, however, I travel probably about 50% or more a month for business.  So I thought I would share some of my travel tips along with some observations I have made over many years of traveling.  And although much of the travel has been for business, I’m sure that many of these things you will find applicable to travel in general.

No more jar sauce!  Once I made this receipt that was the request of my husband.  My grandmother made an absolute wonderful homemade red sauce.  Unfortunately, she passed away before I ever got the recipe.  So I had been on a hunt for a good recipe that at least would come close. As like many of my recipes, I found one that I thought would be a good base, but I always have to doctor them a bit to my liking.  The end result though of this sauce made our family never want to use jar sauce again.

I absolutely love this salsa recipe and so does my family!  My aunt was given this recipe by a former neighbor and we have all been making it ever since.  I’m sure your thinking to yourself maybe this is more of a summer recipe.  For us, this is any ANYTIME recipe.  You see in the winter this is great as you can make it a little spicier and push that head cold right along.  Or you can make in the summer to enjoy as you sit outside.  Anytime is a good time for salsa!

Getting What You Pay For

Getting what you pay for

I’m a firm believer in getting what I pay for.  Sometimes my husband thinks I go a bit overboard.  But I work hard for my money and because I do so, I don’t part with it easily.  So for me, I just can’t stand when I shell out money for something, no matter the amount, and don’t get what I pay for.  In this post, I’d like to share a few tips and things that I’ve run into over time that may help you.  So you can get what you are paying for.

This one pot ziti recipe is a great go-to recipe when you have forgotten to put something in the crockpot.  Yes, that’s right, I don’t always cook in a crockpot.  Believe me, I love my crockpot, but sometimes my day gets away from me.  So if you run into this kind of a situation this is a great recipe with lots of good flavors.

Christmas Traditions – Our Way

Christmas Traditions - Sharing some of our family traditions

Many families have their Christmas traditions.  Our family is no different.  Many of the traditions that my family now incorporates each year are ones that my parents started with me and my siblings many years ago.  Others we have added along the way.  I look forward to sharing some of the things that our family does and hope that you will also share some of yours with us.
